5 Days Out With Your Kids That Will Help You To Bond

Bonding with your kids is one of the most important things when it comes to being a parent. If you do this properly, you will have strong relationships that will last you a lifetime; if you don’t, you could find that your family lacks the closeness that you’re really searching for. Luckily, it’s pretty easy to bond with your kids, and you just need to give them love and attention where you can.

Going on days out together is a great way to bond, too, and here are 5 examples that could strengthen your relationships.

Tips To Keep your Family Online While On The Move

In this modern age technology is taking over, which is actually a fantastic thing, but with this comes the issue of staying online. Even with all the WIFI around and 4G mobile phone connections we can still find ourselves in a situation where we have no signal and no WIFI, whether it is because you have gone on holiday to a remote location or you just don’t get internet in your area.

Most children these days have all sorts to access the internet, such as smartphones, tablets and even smart watches. Although it pains some parents to say it, children are quietest when they are on some sort of technology, so keeping your child online can be critical in keeping them happy and entertained in certain situations.

Of course, sometimes kids run out of data, which means that you can end up in somewhat of a sticky situation with bored, unhappy little ones!

Family Day Out: Grasshoppers Play Area at Tong Garden Centre

A few weeks back we spent the morning at Grasshoppers play area at Tong Garden Centre in Bradford. We've been before, but Tommy who is now 2.5 year old was probably a little too young to fully enjoy it. Plus we had gone on a very hot Saturday, so as you can imagine it was extremely busy. This time however it was mid-week and overcast. We went early in the day to avoid the crowds and it was just perfect. He had a brilliant time.

Family Day Out: Yorkshire Sculpture Park

With all this lovely warm weather we've been having we took the opportunity to get out for the day. A bit of fresh air and walk in beautiful surroundings would do us all the world of good. We headed off the the Yorkshire Sculpture Park which is near to Wakefield, West Yorkshire. There's so much to see, it's impossible to see it all in one day and there's something for everyone. From interesting sculptures to see to miles of pleasant walks in the countryside.

We didn't manage miles of walking, but we had 2 toddlers and a baby in tow. But we still enjoyed our walk and looking at the sculptures we passed. And the boys loved the big open space. They are too young still to really show much interest in what the park had to offer, but I can image in the future they would get more out of a visit there other than just running around.

Here are a few photos of our visit. See below for video of our trip.

Family Day Out: Yeadon Tarn

For a while now we've talked about getting out as a family to go on walks and see some of our beautiful surroundings. Neither Keith or I are from Yorkshire, so there's plenty to discover and it's so important to take time out to just be and spend time as a family. Our little boy Tommy loves being outside and the fresh air really gives me a new lease of life.

Family Day Out - Farmer Copley's

A few weeks ago we planned to have a family day out, and found an event on at Farmer Copleys that looked fun. We visited the farm last year to see the pumpkins and had a lovely day out then. But unfortunately Tommy had been poorly so we didn't head out as early as planned. We still headed to the farm, but didn't bother going into the event because it was late in the afternoon. But the farm has a lovely shop and a few animals to look at. There was also a tractor that Tommy absolutely loved. It was the first time he'd really smiled in days after being so poorly.

Here are some photos from our trip out.

Autumn Walks

I would say that spring is my favourite time of the year, but Autumn is definitely very close behind. There's something so nice about going for a nice Autumn walk with the leaves crunching below your feet and seeing the array of colours in the trees.

Here are some photos from my walk a few days ago in a park local to where I live.

Halloween Fun

I've never really done much for Halloween, apart from a couple of times decorating the house for my nieces to come over and last year I turned my pregnant belly into a pumpkin. But now I have a family of my own I thought it might be nice to start some family traditions around Halloween. As one of my 40 things to do before I'm 40 list is to create some family traditions I wanted to blog and vlog about what we got up to. There are a few decorations in the home, we went to a trunk and treat and went pumpkin picking.

Here are some photos from our Halloween weekend. If you'd like to see the vlog from our Halloween weekend of fun, click this link: https://youtu.be/Do2EB5tzJU8
